TESTIMONIALS
We are a mature couple living in our Victorian dream home in Summit Hill. Crocus Hill Home Care allows us to continue the life style and comforts of home we so cherish. Marnie cheerfully and thoughtfully attends to all of our on going needs. The professional, dedicated assistance and support from Crocus Hill Home Care has made it possible to delay the drastic downsizing and painful move into a care facility. We would strongly recommend Crocus Hill Home Care for all those that find themselves in similar situations.
The occupational therapist in the rehabilitation facility where my mother was recovering from recent heart surgery gave us the news that my mother could no longer live independently. We did not know what to do. Although, my mother had shown signs of mental debilitation recently she clearly communicated that she did not want to be ‘warehoused’ in an assisted living facility. My wife began calling services to care for my mother as we both worked full-time outside our home. We were appalled to find that most services paid their workers less than half the wages that they charged. We began researching assisted living facilities near our home. All the while, my mother protested vehemently that she did not want to be put in a nursing home. Coincidentally, the rehab facility where she had been for 6 weeks had an assisted living facility. We toured the 24-hour care area only to discover that the attendant was not in attendance. We were slowly becoming aware of the low quality of care in these facilities. Luckily a friend told us about Marnie. We learned her background had been 35 years at Bridgeview a school for 5-20 year olds. Bridgeview is a facility for physically and mentally handicapped children. We were impressed with her calm demeanor which never waivered for the year she spent in our home attending to my mother. Marnie’s background includes a master’s in special education. Although we struggled as my mother slowly became more and more disoriented, Marnie provided patience, education and kindness. My mother’s health deteriorated as her heart condition worsened. We would have been lost without Marnie’s care and knowledge. We highly recommend Marnie and her team.
